Hope you are all well and enjoying Summer Vacation,
I thought I would update the site with a little Promotional Video of Chip, Brian & Dave recorded on Tuesday 4th of August for the All Star 60’s Show starting in October. It’s only short but we hope you enjoy it.
To view the video, please check it out on the Video page here
Please keep an eye out for any new updates that appear.
Hi everyone, hope you are all doing fine. Yep, don't faint, we are going to do a little re vamp for the site! First thing is a new opening song which I recorded in Nashville in the middle 70s. The title is "Silas" I would like some comments from you, if possible because I regard this as one of my best compositions, but for some unknown reason it was never used. I think it was just forgotten when we returned to England. We are thinking of changing the opening track every month or so, that way you can listen to songs that have been gathering dust for years! We also thought it would be great to update the photos and put some more recent ones on with Brian me and the pacemakers on tour. If anyone has any pics you may have taken, please send them. I would be most gratetful.
You may have seen some comments on facebook from Mr Jeff Brown recently. Just for the record I have known Jeff for a long time and he has always been a good friend. In fact I got him the job with the Trems. He is a competent muso, I know because he worked for me in "The Chip Hawkes Band" and "The Class of 64" many times. I do think though he was very disrespectful to Dave Munden, the only original Tremeloe still with the band, with his petty comments . Actually it was the promoters suggestion to have Dave join Brian and me on the tour. He thought it would be great for the 3 originals to get together, mainly for the nostalgic aspect. Which we all agreed on. Yes we are being backed by "The Pacemakers" but along with Gerry they have been backing Brian and I for years! Lets get this straight. Jeff Brown is not an original Tremeloe. He is paid to play the bass and sing with the Tremeloes. Which he does very well. I just wish that Jeff would stop whinging and get over it!
Now I have got that off my chest, I can tell you we are really looking forward to the tour and we are all very excited. Can you imagine the remeniscing in the dressing room? Think I might record some of the stories and put them on the site ...what do you think?!
All my love Chip x
Just a quick update to let you know all is well with Chip. He will be off to Portugal next month for a well deserved break followed by some gigs in Germany.
The dates are now in for the Sixties Gold Tour 2014 and he can't wait to see you all again soon.
Due to the overwhelming success of the Gold Tour 2013 the line up has remained the same.
Keep an eye on the website as dates are coming in regularly
I'd firstly like to say, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas & a very Happy New Year,
Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of news to tell you, what I can say is that the Sixties Gold 50th Anniversary Tour went amazingly well, and of course, Chip & Brian will be returning for the tour next year. Although I am sure that you are all desperate to see the dates, they will not be available for quite a while yet. As soon as the dates become available you will all be the first to know via the Chip Hawkes support group on Facebook, and of course, the website.
Now, on the subject of the support group, this has been a place where we have been keeping up to date very regularly. In December, we ran a Chip Hawkes Advent Calendar where there was a brand new photo every day. In due course, you will be able to log on and see all the pictures in one place. We'll keep you updated as things happen. I will enclose a link for the Support For Chip Hawkes Facebook page at the bottom of this article.
I'd now like to end this newsletter by saying once again, from all of us at Chip Hawkes HQ, especially to you - have a happy & healthy 2014.
